Law And Order: ‘Robber’ dies in accident

Ayesha and her husband Ali Azeem were driving home when two armed men on a motorbike tried to stop them.

LAHORE: A woman was shot dead by armed robbers near Ravi bridge late on Wednesday night. Police said Ayesha, 40, and her husband Ali Azeem were driving home from a wedding when two armed men on a motorbike tried to stop them. Police said Ayesha was driving the car and tried to accelerate.  The men chased the car and shot her in the chest. Her husband took her to the hospital. The police claimed that one of the robbers died at Lahore General Hospital after he was brought there by his accomplices with a head injury.  A police officer, requesting anonymity, Suleman’s accomplices admitted him to the hospital and fled.  He said several robbery and murder cases had been traced against Suleman.  Police said the husband of the deceased had identified him as the man who shot her.
