A deadly game: ‘Toy’ bomb incapacitates minor in Kurram

A 10-year-old boy was severely injured when a ‘toy’ bomb exploded in central Kurram Agency on Thursday.

PARACHINAR: A 10-year-old boy was severely injured when a ‘toy’ bomb exploded in central Kurram Agency on Thursday. A political administration official said the incident occurred in the morning in Wrasta area. Akbar Khan told the administration is son found a small ball outside their house and was playing with it when he accidentally kicked it into a fire burning inside a nearby oven, which resulted in an explosion that injured him.  The official said the boy was taken to Sadda Headquarters Hospital in lower Kurram where doctors said the boy had lost an eye while his leg was severely injured. A case was filed against unidentified militants and further investigation is under way.
