QUETTA: Major political parties took out a rally in Quetta on Wednesday to demand safe recovery of the kidnapped leader of Awami National Party, Arbab Zahir Kasi. Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) rallied for Kasi who was abducted about five months ago from Quetta downtown. Police have failed to find any clue regarding whereabouts of Kasi. He was chief of Kasi tribe and remained president of ANP Balochistan chapter for several years. Some officials suggested that he might be in the custody of Taliban extremists. ANP formed a committee comprising JUI-F Parliamentary Leader Maulana Abdul Wasay, PML-N Balochistan president Sardar Sanaulah Zehri and other opposition and government leaders to approach the kidnappers. “It has been confirmed that Kasi has been taken to Waziristan and we want to ensure his safe recoveryi through tribal or other means,” ANP leader Sardar Rashid Nasir said.
