The whale was seen lying on the harbour with blood near its head.
The fishermen claimed that the shark got caught in their net accidentally and they dragged it to shore but a World Wildlife Federation (WWF) spokesperson said that the shark was killed.
Whale sharks are highly valued on international markets and demand for their meat, fins and oil remains a threat to the species, according to the WWF website. The species face a high risk of extinction in the wild.
Restrictions should be imposed on killing these animals, the WWF spokesperson told Express News.
The WWF team reached the harbour.

I have never seen hear in Dubai fisher man saying whale got stuck in their net and they dragged it to shore...!! this kind of thing can be only stopped if the authority snatch the fish as soon as it reaches shore and bury it...!! other wise ever now and then you will see this giant fishes very deliberately come and tangle in to the nets of our fisher men so that they get dragged in to shore to give a fresh life in the form of food for humans...!!
A country where human life holds little value, animal rights taking a back seat shouldn't be much of a shocker.
How many times will our fisherman kill these harmless creatures? Their boats should be impounded and their fishing license cancelled!!
Another ban on its way for Pakistanis!
