LAHORE:
A court issued arrest warrants for actress Meera and Captain Naveed as they failed to appear before the court during a hearing of the objectionable video case, Express News reported on Tuesday.

Meera and Captain Naveed stand accused of filming a video clip that has “tarnished Pakistan’s image”.

An additional district and sessions judge on March 18 had issued the Mozang SHO a show cause notice and directed Meera and Captain Naveed to appear in court on March 25 (today).

The court had previously sought comments from the Mozang SHO but he had neither submitted the comments nor sent another official in his stead.

The judge had previously issued notices to the respondents but the process server said that their addresses were not correct.

Petitioner Shabbir Muhammad had said that he had watched the clip on January 20. The petitioner had requested the court to direct the Mozang SHO to register a case against them, submit a challan in court and get their names put on the Exit Control List.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 2.
