LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Monday admitted for regular hearing a petition seeking the registration of a case against a retired judge accused of fraud. Asghar Rafiq alleged that he had given Rs6.4 million to Akhtar Hussain, a retired drug court judge, to buy a plot. However, Hussain misappropriated the money and later refused to return it, he said. He asked the court to order the police to register a case against Hussain. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani admitted the petition for regular hearing and issued notices to the respondents.
