Non-payment of salaries: Notices issued to Punjab govt
The notices were issued after 100 employees filed separate applications complaining about non-payment.
RAWALPINDI:
A labour court in Rawalpindi on Monday issued notices to the Tehsil Municipal Administration and the Government of Punjab to file their replies in a case regarding non-payment of salaries to contractual employees for the last three months. The notices were issued after 100 employees filed separate applications complaining about non-payment of salaries. The petitioners also urged the court to direct the government to regularise all of the contract employees who have been working for the last eleven years. They said the TMA authorities are making lame excuses of funds shortages, due to which salaries could not be paid. Later, they announced they would launch a stage a sit-in outside the provincial and national assembly buildings .
