KUALA LAMPUR: Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Monday dispelled all hope when he informed the media at a press conference the missing airliner MH370 had ended its journey in the Southern Indian Ocean.

"It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean," Najib Razak told the press conference.

According to satellite analysis the plane flew along the southern corridor and its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth, far from any possible landing site, the Prime Minister informed.

A press release from the Prime Minister's office said that the information about the jet's fate came from the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB).

In a Malaysia Airlines press release, the airline said that "the ongoing multinational search operation will continue, as we seek answers to the questions which remain".

Families of the passengers and crew members were briefed by Malaysia Airlines before the press conference who were told that there were no survivors.

I suspect a foul play by India. No wonder after 5 or 10 years, a high ranking CBI officer will unveil India's complicity in this tragedy.
