Targeted: NAB Sindh assistant director shot dead

Six-year-old minor also killed in attack while child’s mother suffered bullet injuries.

KARACHI: The police have registered a case of the murder of Sindh National Accountability Bureau assistant director, Agha Muhammad Jamil Hussain, who was shot dead on Saturday night. Ahmed was gunned down by unknown assailants at Malik Nihari restaurant in Sharfabad, within the limits of New Town Police station. A six-year-old minor, Faizan, was also killed in the attack while the child’s mother, Zaiba, suffered bullet injuries. According to the police, Ahmed was a deputy superintendent of police and was deployed at Sindh NAB as an assistant director. He was having dinner at the restaurant when the assailants opened fire , injuring him severely. He died on the way to the hospital. The funeral prayers for the deceased were held at Imambargah Yasrab in Defence Housing Authority. Police have registered a case, no. 66/2014, on behalf of the state on the complaint of sub-inspector Khalid under sections 302, 324/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
