Transfers and postings: Home secretary gets new job

Muhammad Abbas Baloch will now handle charge of Sukkur commissioner.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has posting the home secretary, Mumtaz Ali Shah, who will now be posted as the managing director of the technical and vocational authority. Shah will also have the charge of secretary to the chief minister on education boards. On the other hand, Sukkur commissioner Dr Niaz Ali Abbasi has been given the charge of the home secretary. Muhammad Abbas Baloch will now handle the charge of the Sukkur commissioner in his stead. The move to transfer the home secretary comes just before Sindh government’s release of Rs5 billion to law enforcement agencies. Meanwhile, the secretary for the CM House termed it a routine matter and stressed that the procurement of weapons and vehicles for law enforcement agencies will be conducted in a transparent manner.
