Lahore High Court: Eight additional judges take oath

Number of LHC judges has risen to 51 against the sanctioned strength of 60.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial administered oath to eight newly appointed additional judges on Saturday.

Justice Shah Khawar, Justice James Joseph, Justice Zafarullah Khan Khakwani, Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, Justice Sikandar Zulqarnain Saleem and Justice Faisal Zaman Khan took oath at a ceremony held at the judges’ lounge at the LHC. Registrar Sardar Ahmad Naeem conducted the proceedings. The LHCBA president and office bearers were also present. With the elevation of these judges, the number of LHC judges has risen to 51 against the sanctioned strength of 60. Among the judges, 31 are confirmed and 20 are additional judges.
