India registered a convincing seven-wicket win over Pakistan in their World Twenty20 Group 2 opening match in at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh on Friday, prolonging Pakistan’s dream of defeating India in a World Cup match.
Asked to bat after losing the toss, Pakistan’s openers failed to fire and managed to score just 35 runs for the loss of one wicket in the initial six power-play overs.
Although Indian openers got off to a slow start, the side chased down the target in 18.3 overs for the loss of three wickets.
