‘University- industry collaboration’ in the business sector is the need of the hour. This was said by the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid at the inaugural ceremony of third Pak-China Business Forum 2014 which kicked off Friday at Pak- China Friendship Centre.
“This is the era of technology and we must follow the latest technology to compete with others,” the minister said.
The forum is being organised by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT).
Over, 300 hundred Chinese and Pakistani companies established stalls aiming to promote new energy, information and communication, water conservation, purification and sanitation technologies.
A large number of university students and people from different walks of life attended the event.
Seeworld Company Manager Jack Lau was “happy to see peoples’ interest in latest technologies.”
CIIT Rector Dr S M Junaid Zaidi said they first introduced an academic model of business cooperation in 2012, followed by second one in 2013 and this was the third which, according to him, was already a success.
On day one, different seminars were conducted on subjects like next generation fuel cell technologies, the role of Nano-technology in energy technology, technology for conversion of biomass and communal waste to energy, renewable energy and prospects of solar electricity in Pakistan. The forum will continue till Monday.
