Pakistan Day: 21 civil awards to be presented on Sunday

Governor will confer 21 awards including Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for contributions in various fields.

The governor will confer 21 awards, including Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, to 21 people for contributions in various fields on March 23.


Nominees for Sitara-i-Imtiaz are University of Gujrat Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin, poet Shehzad Ahmed and journalist Muhammad Ashiq Chaudhary.

Dr Hamid Saleem, Dr Muhammad Arif Chaudhary from Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, Professor Hasan Shahnawaz Zaidi, Group Captain (late) Cecil Chaudhary, Aurangzeb Leghari, Dr Tabassum Kashmiri, Dr Younis Javaid, actor Muhammad Ayub Khan, photojournalist Azhar Hussain Jafri, late Syed Irshad Hussain Raashed, Khaled Ahmed and special education teacher Zeeshan Abbasi would receive the pride of performance awards.

Professor Dr Fauzia Yusuf Hafeez, librarian Mian Ghulam Ahmed Jhandir, Waseem Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad Naz, Professor Dr Abdul Tawwab Khan and Lahore Development Authority Director General Ahad Khan Cheema would get Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

The chief secretary would read the citations at the Governor’s House.
