Three police officials deployed at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Jaati Umra residence in Raiwind were suspended on Wednesday and issued show-cause notices for negligence by SP (Security Zone 3) Syed Junaid Arshad. The police personnel were suspended after a cat devoured one of the several peacocks kept at the residence.
A police official said a gardener found the peacock’s body on Tuesday morning on the lawns of the premier’s house where the birds wander freely. He said the incident was reported to SP Arshad who summoned the constables deployed near the house.
Initially, SP Arshad denied the incident, saying some officials had been penalised for not being present for duty at the time.
One of the suspended constables, however, told The Express Tribune that 21 constables were summoned by the SP on Wednesday. He said the constables said they were on duty but did not anticipate a cat eating the peacock at night.
The SP cleared 18 security personnel as they were not manning the lawn but issued formal orders of suspension for the remaining three police constables, he said, including Tariq and Rafaqat, who were on guard near the lawn where the bird was attacked.
When contacted again, SP Arshad was unavailable for comments.

According to the Interior Minister it was the bodyguard of the peacock

@Ch:Allah Daad. This guy is really funny, you can witness him in any post relating to PML-N/PTI. And generally speaking, he acts like a PML-N fanboy, and he personifies everything that is wrong with Pakistan.
The issue is not the cat killing the peacock. The peacock must have made a lot of noise before it went down and no one payed attention. This means the police who were supposed to guard the house were not vigilant and any intruder could have broken into the house. It is the negligence of police who were not doing their duty whether it is guarding the PM's house or some other place.

As we normally read in newspapers about recovery of the peacocks & other rare precious birds being recovered by the LEAs. How come these peacocks were illegally kept at his raiwind residence ??? This speculates that the PM is entitled to keep as many number of these precious birds at his various residences in pakistan besides the deployment of police staff for their security.
Now, the government should start thinking to establish a new type to law enforcement agency: Peacocks Protection Commandos.
All animals got to eat. PM eats tandoori chicken and goat chops and the cats in his backyard ate a peacock. It is just the circle of life. However all kudos to the cat who broke all security barriers and brought down a bird many times its own size. "PM to PM, PM ki billi bhi PM."
Its better to be a PM's peacock rather than a human being in Pakistan.. Atleast somebody cares, if a cat makes a meal out you, rather than dying unrecognized in the blasts on the roads.
This is ridiculous. The policemen aren't there to look after the PM's menagerie of exotic pets. If the PM wants, he can fire his mali or whoever minds his caged lions and peacocks and whatnot.
Although I do suspect this might just have been the action of the concerned SP doing some good old TC.

@Khan Gul: I think the army should not wait to be deployed. They should jump right in and make sure that none of the remaining peacocks are exposed to danger. On the other hand, it is too bad that no one has spoken on behalf of the cat who simply did what cats are supposed to do!

That was the last peacock traveled from THAR desert in a PM Mercedes with protocol and died unfortunately but Mr. RanaSanaullah will say ... He died but no other causalities recorded from THAR, Kolisthan.

Get a pair of cute little puppies. They won't harm the peacocks and will take care of the billi too. All living things are precious. Please take care of them.
