To be held soon: Acting governor summons PA session
The drought and the subsequent deaths of children in Tharparkar are likely to dominate the proceedings.
KARACHI:
Acting governor Agha Siraj Durrani summoned a Sindh Assembly session on Friday, March 21. The drought and the subsequent deaths of children in Tharparkar are likely to dominate the proceedings. The 12th session of the current parliamentary year is now finally being summoned by the government itself, after previously ignoring the joint opposition parties’ pleas to hold it to discuss the Thar tragedy. The privilege motion filed by Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Khairunisa Mughal against the district education officer, Mirpurkhas, and the adjournment motion moved by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on the Thar issue are likely to be discussed during the session. The discussion will also include the resolution tabled by the MQM against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan in reaction to the Punjab Assembly motion against its leader Altaf Hussain.
