Shoaib files appeal against PCB ban

Express April 14, 2010

HYDERABAD: Former captain Shoaib Malik filed an appeal against the ban and heavy fine imposed on him by Pakistan Cricket Board, barely two days before the end of the appeal deadline.

PCB's legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi said an independent arbitratorwill  deal with Malik's case. Seven players were penalised and fined by the PCB last month following on and off-field problems in the U-A-E, New Zealand and Australian tours.

Malik was banned for a year and fined 2 million rupees for violation of players' code of conduct.

With Malik's move, 6 out of the 7 penalised players have appealed so far, leaving Yousuf the only one not to have done so.
