5.4 Richter scale earthquake jolts Peshawar

A 5.4 Richter magnitude earthquake felt in Peshawar and its vicinity.

PESHAWAR: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale rocked Peshawar and its vicinity on Wednesday evening, Express News reported.

According to the meteorological department the quake measured 5.4 with its epicentre in the Hindu Kush mountain range and 170 kilometres deep.

The earthquake was also felt in Chitral and Malakand division.

There were no immediate reports of damage to property or loss of life.
