QUETTA:

Balochistan Levies on Tuesday morning found two bullet-riddled bodies of Bugti tribesmen, dumped in the Pirkoh area of Bugti Tribal Territory.

The paramilitary personnel discovered the corpses in a desolated place of Pirkoh area on a tip-off. The bodies were later shifted to hospital, where one of the dead was identified as Khaliq Bugti while the identity of the second could not be determined.

“They were shot in the head and chest,” hospital sources said after the autopsy.

The motive behind the murder is unknown as officials in Dera Bugti said investigations were underway. “Both the deceased were residents of Pirkoh,” an official at Pirkoh Levies Thana said.

Dera Bugti has been witnessing serious law and order problem since 2006, when Bugti tribal chieftain and Balochistan’s former chief minister Nawab Akbar Bugti was assassinated in an operation.

In the militancy infested region, Baloch militants usually target economic installations—gas pipelines, power pylons and security forces.
