Safety first: New Accident & Emergency dept for LRH

The new A&E has six operation CT scan, X-Ray machines, laboratory, endoscopy machines, blood bank and an eye unit.

PESHAWAR: A new accident and emergency (A&E) department was inaugurated at Lady Reading Hospital on Tuesday. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa health minister Shaukat Yousafzai was present at the ceremony and said that the government would provide the public sector with the facilities they needed. The new A&E has six operation theaters, a trauma centre, orthopedic ward, CT scan, X-Ray machines, laboratory, endoscopy machines, blood bank and an eye unit. The new block will also provide free medicines. The minister said 200 beds will also be available in the new department. He added new staff will be hired at the hospital soon.
