'Tehrik-i-Taliban's back broken'

Interior minister says attacks on shrines an attempt to create sectarian unrest, govt trying to catch culprits.

The government has broken the back of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, stated Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday.

Malik was speaking to the media after a federal cabinet meeting at the Governor House in Lahore. He said that the attacks on shrines were an attempt to create sectarian unrest, stating that previously knives and guns were used, and now bombs were being used.

The interior minister appealed for patience and called for unity, and said that the government is trying to catch the culprits.

Sufi shrines across Pakistan have come under attack, with the shrine of Baba Farid in Pakpattan being the latest casualty and the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi before that.

There is a clear lack of will on part of the establishment and their cronies in govt to root out Wahabi extremism from Pakistan. More and more students are being enrolled with each passing year in the death factories (salafi/wahabi seminaries).

I think we should try & get the technology of dromes & bomb these animals out of this earth. These idiots have done more harm than good for both Pakistan & Islam. These TTP are no jihadi's they are just plain criminals desguised themselves as fighters for Islam. My question for them is; How are they helping Islam by bombing & killing people at shrines & on the roads of our cities?

Imagine, that bombs and their material is all heaven sent and this is why our agencies completely fail to track their filteration in to form bombs. What a big looser is our Interior Minister, and if only he was sincere ...
