The capital will soon have joint patrolling by Rangers and police personnel. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said this while chairing a meeting on Sunday. He said the government would provide the requisite funds to make the venture effective. He said that Rangers have been given extra responsibilities to make the capital a safe city and ordered the purchase of patrolling vehicles besides recruitment of retired army personnel in the police. He said the new security plan would be visible on the streets of the capital from April 15. The meeting was attended by the acting Nadra chairman, FIA director-general, Rangers commander and top police officials. The minister also asked the FIA to improve its performance and remove officials involved in facilitating human traffickers.
