BAHAWALPUR: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said on Sunday that water can be purchased from India to prevent a famine in Cholistan.  “If electricity and natural gas can be purchased from other countries, why can’t we buy water to improve the conditions of Cholistan?” he said. He said he had made a proposal to the prime minister in this regard. He said if the project was approved, shortage of water in canals of Hasilpur would eliminated. He said attempts would also be made to create an assembly seat for Cholistan. He was addressing a gathering at Toba Kalay Par in Cholistan. He said that while project for production of solar energy in Cholistan would help control the energy crisis, it would also put Cholistan on the road to prosperity and development.
