Book launch: Saleemi lauded by contemporaries

The poems of Akhtar Raza Saleemi unveil the new world of meanings. So said poet Aftab Iqbal Shamim at the launch of Saleemi’s book “Khawab Dan” here on Friday.

Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) organised this event in collaboration with Inhiraaf.

Aftab Iqbal Shamim said that the apparently simply knitted and short poems contain too much mystery.

Dr Ehsan Akbar said metaphor in his poems is knitted very artistically.

The poet has successfully incorporated the contemporary issues in his poetry, said Muhammad Hameed Shahid.

Poet Parveen Tahir said that Saleemi’s attitude towards time is quite amazing. We can easily trace out the colours of affection, intimacy and competition in his poetry.
