Earth Hour: Candles lighted for greener palnet

The event was attended by hundreds of students from all ‘Green schools’ of Lahore.

LAHORE: World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) held a pre-launch ceremony at Beaconhouse Garden Town campus. The event was attended by hundreds of students from all ‘Green schools’ of Lahore including, Forman Christian College, Lahore Grammar School 1A1 and Lahore Grammar School in Main Gulberg, International School of Choueifat, and the Bridges School. Singer-writer Zoe Viccaji and director Sarmad Khoosat led students in a pledge for a greener planet. They also lit candles in a ceremony. Earth hour is a global initiative to address and highlight the importance of energy conservation. This initiative was taken up by a group of individuals in Sydney, Australia. Today, earth hour has become the largest annual voluntary action.
