ISLAMABAD:
The capital’s lawyers decided to continue their strike till March 15 and demanded of the government to take action against top police officials. The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association here on Thursday. Lawyers did not appear before district courts to show solidarity with the victims of the bomb blasts, which killed at least 11 people, including additional sessions judge Rafaqat Awan. Spokesman for IBA Chaudhry Khalid Hussain in a statement demanded of the government to shift the district courts to a safer place, he added. The lawyers urged the government to ensure foolproof security arrangements at all the courts to prevent such incidents in future. The lawyers had been boycotting courts since March 3.
