Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Wednesday transferred four Directors General (DG) and two directors holding key posts in the bureau, The Express Tribune has learnt.
Sources familiar with the development told The Express Tribune that this is the first time in NAB’s history that four officers of this level have been simultaneously transferred. They added that this is merely the first phase of transfers and a ‘massive reshuffle’ will be made within the authority shortly. A list of the officers up for transfers has almost been finalized, they added.
According to NAB officials familiar with the matter, DG NAB Rawalpindi Regional Bureau Col (retd) Subah Sadiq has been transferred and posted as DG Human Resources at NAB Headquarters in Islamabad, while his predecessor Altaf Bhawani has been posted as DG Awareness and Prevention (A&P) at NAB Headquarters. The post of DG A&P lay vacant after the retirement of Brigadier (retd) Musaddaq Abassi.
The DG NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Col (retd) Shahzad Anwar Bhatti has been transferred and posted as DG NAB Rawalpindi Regional Bureau, while Director Investigation Wing-I Rawalpindi Major (retd) Shahzad Saleem has been posted as DG NAB in K-P.
Major (retd) Burhan Ahmad has been posted as Director NAB Investigation Wing-I Rawalpindi, while Tariq Nadeem has been posted as Director Investigation Wing-II Rawpindi, NAB officials revealed.
DG NAB Rawalpindi Col (retd) Subah Sadiq and Director NAB Rawpindi Major (retd) Shahzad Saleem supervised and investigated various multi-billion-rupee scandals including the RPPs case and OGRA.
Similarly, DG NAB K-P Col (retd) Shahzad Anawar Bhatti has supervised various mega corruption cases including the Rs2 billion weapons procurement case against former K-P IG Police Naveed Malik and other influential accused persons.
