Target killing: ASWJ activist gunned down

Pirwadhai SHO Ishtiaq Ahmad Cheema confirmed the incident and said deceased was member of ASWJ

A member of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pirwadhai on Tuesday.


Pirwadhai SHO Ishtiaq Ahmad Cheema confirmed the incident and said Abu Bakar,26, was a member of the ASWJ.


“He was a university student and going home in his car when unknown motorcyclists intercepted him and shot him dead,” he said adding that a case had been registered against unknown persons.


He was taken to Holy Family Hospital where a large number of activists of ASWJ arrived and held a protest. They demanded the killers be arrested and threatened to block Expressway if the police failed to meet their demand.


A police contingent also reached the hospital to control the situation.
