Animal Rights; Dog fight stopped

BAHAWALPUR: A dog fight in Khanpur Noranga was stopped by police on Monday.

Ahmadpur East DSP Rao Zahoor Ahmad Rabbani said the police had received a tip-off about a dog fight being held in the jurisdiction of Naushera Jadeed police station.

He said he had issued an order to Naushera Jadeed Station House Officer Tahir Khan to raid the site and arrest those betting on the illegal animal fight.

He said organisers of the event had been alerted to the police raid and fled by the time the police arrived.

Khan told newsmen that a constable was believed to be involved in organising the dog fight. He said an inquiry had been started.
