Appointment: New PRCS chief takes charge
Dr Saeed Elahi has been appointed chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society.
Dr Saeed Elahi has been appointed chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS). He has been appointed for a period of three years by President Mamnoon Hussain, who is also president of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, said a press release issued on Monday. Soon after assuming charge, he visited PRCS headquarters and held meetings with the management and staff members. PRCS Secretary Dr Mahboob Sardar gave the new chairman a presentation on PRCS activities. Dr Saeed said that the PRCS was a national humanitarian organisation and a source of recognition all over the world. We all must work collectively to help the vulnerable in a more befitting manner. He stressed the need for more commitment and dedication to bring further laurels for the PRCS and to the country. He vowed to make the PRCS more vibrant to cope with natural and manmade disasters.
