A letter sent by interior ministry to Inspector General (IG) Islamabad and other security agencies claims that opponents have planned to assassinate the former president. The ministry has asked authorities to beef up security around the former president to avoid any untoward incident.
The ministry also hinted at fears of a repeat attack which saw former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer killed.
Musharraf is scheduled to appear before a special court on Tuesday in his treason trial.
Musharraf’s counsel in treason case Ahmed Raza Kasuri has argued that former president would not appear before the court as his life is in danger.

@Ch. Allah Daad:
What ill-gotten money? Quite easy to throw this bit around without an ounce of proof. What if I say the same about your assets and money? How do you disprove me and prove Musharraf has committed financial corruption?
Not everybody is about gathering money for their next seven generations. The Army gave their Chief quite a lot, he did not have to go collect ill-gotten wealth.
How many months/years does it take to put Musharraf on trial? He deserves his day in court and Pakistan deserves closure on this issue.
PLOT THICKENS,the Soap enters very ineresting Episode.All eyes are at what happens next.Actionless suspense is coming up
@Afrooz:
Exactly! The Establishment is creating a charade for Mush's safe departure.
Move the court to a very secured location and finish the case within a day or two. The courts are wasting time and money of this nation. Musharaf will save money too. His lawyers are also prolonging this case to squeeze as much funds from him as possible. All involved have their eyes set on his ill-gotten money.
They are just building up the foundation and basis for the eventual flight of the general to "visit his mother" in Dubai. For all we know the special plane for him is already waiting and being fueled.
It was nice entertainment when it lasted.
The trial charade continues. Government and prosecution fully exposed.
Trurh will triumph. Kangaroo Court is a shame
