Punjab University stood second with their play Kiya Main Ghalat Hon (Am I Wrong?). The third position was taken by Kinnaird College of Women.
Meanwhile, among competitions between arts councils of the province, Sargodha stood first, Rawalpindi was second and Multan was third.
Rawalpindi defeated Lahore by 10 wickets on Sunday to clinch the Punjab Youth Festival’s blind cricket tournament title at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) cricket ground.
Rawalpindi won the toss and chose to bowl. Lahore scored 142 runs. Muhammad Salman was the highest scorer from Lahore with 54 runs.
Rawalpindi chased the target without losing a wicket. Arsalan and Shahid scored 72 and 58 runs respectively.
Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) chairman Sultan Shah was the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 people were interviewed and shortlisted for jobs at a job fair at the Expo Centre.
The fair was arranged by the Punjab Sports Board, Rozee.pk and the Punjab Information and Technology Board (PITB).
Over 40,000 people attended the job fair. More than 50 had set up stalls of their organisations. Talking to newsmen, Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said, “The job fair is the first step to end the employment crisis in the country.”
The youth convention was also held at the Punjab University auditorium.
Mashhood was the guest of honour. Vice Chancellor Kamran Mujahid, journalist Sohail Wariach, Zikria Zakir and Fauzia Kazim were also present. Mashhood said the PYF world records were presented as breaking news across the world.
“The Punjab Youth Festival has transformed into a movement. Last year, 3.2 million youth featured in the festival. This year, the figure has reached 4.2 million,” he added.
Bodybuilding contest
Muhammad Shahzad and Fahad Naseem Butt won the Mr South Asia and Junior Mr South Asia titles respectively.
Pakistan claimed four gold medals, eight silver and eight bronze medals to win the body building event. Afghanistan clinched three gold medals and Nepal earned two.
Pakistan claimed the first position with 49 points; Afghanistan secured second with 31 points while Nepal gained the third position with 10 points.
