A young girl committed suicide within the limits of Charsadda police station on Saturday for unascertained reasons.
Faiz*, resident of Sheikh Kallay, reported to the Charsadda police that he was present at his residence when his daughter, whose name has not been confirmed, locked herself in a room.
Faiz further explained they later heard a gunshot from the room and found her dead in a pool of blood when they broke into it.
He mentioned that the motive behind the suicide could not be ascertained. Police registered the case and started an investigation to find whether it was a suicide or not.
On February 8, a 22-year-old university student and the only brother of four sisters in Charsadda succumbed to injuries in a hospital after shooting himself on January 16. Asif*, a resident of Haspatal Korona, had locked himself in a room at his house and shot himself.
