PESHAWAR:

Following the gun-and-suicide-attack at a district court complex in Islamabad, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has put law enforcement agencies on red alert. A notification issued by the K-P Home and Tribal Affairs department on Wednesday has directed police and security forces to strengthen security at all the courts in the province.

Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Syed Akhtar Ali Shah has directed all division and deputy commissioners, regional and district police officers and other relevant officials to review security measures at all K-P courts.

Shah, according to the official notification, also directed officials not to allow any vehicles inside court premises with the exception of those belonging to judges and lawyers. Any unidentified vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and pushcarts should not be parked within the courts’ premises.
