He stated that the inclusion of such an official in the peace talks will have serious consequences if the negotiations failed.
The government was considering reconstituting its four-member negotiating committee in a bid to make the nascent peace process more ‘effective and result-oriented,’ The Express Tribune had learnt on March 4.
A committee member had said that he and his colleagues have unanimously suggested that the prime minister induct politicians and senior army officials into the committee.
Shah further added that he does not have any objections to whether the government holds the peace talks themselves or via an intermediary committee.
