Found guilty: Mithi judge removed from post
Relatives of another judge, whose son was gunned down last month, filed a complaint against Lashari.
KARACHI:
Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar removed the district and sessions judge of Mithi, Sikandar Lashari, from his post on Tuesday. According to an official notification issued by the SHC registrar’s office, Lashari has been directed to report to the high court in Karachi. Judicial sources said that the transfer of the district and sessions judge came after the relatives of another judge, whose son was gunned down last month by unknown assailants in Hyderabad, filed a complaint against Lashari. Aqib Shahani, the son of Jacobabad district and sessions judge, Khalid Hussain Shahani, was shot dead on February 19. According to sources, the family had requested the SHC chief justice to allow the police to interrogate Lashari for the murder of Aqib, who had fallen in love with Lashari’s daughter.
