LAHORE:

“Court premises are a sanctuary for the aggrieved. Lawyers and security agencies are supposed to maintain law and order in courts,” Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said on Monday.

He was addressing an emergency meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association in the wake of the attack at Islamabad courts.

Lawyers stopped work at half-day in Monday and announced an entire day’s strike on Tuesday (today) in protest against the attack on Islamabad courts.
