Voicing concerns: Kutchi community protests attacks

Deceased was resident of Lyari’s Khadda Market and was kidnapped by alleged Lyari gangsters from Lyari’s Niazi Chowk.

KARACHI: Members of the Kutchi community staged a protest on the main Mauripur Road on Sunday against the abduction and killing of a community member. 25-year-old Shoaib Kutchi was found dead on Mauripur Road within the limits of Docks police station. SHO Misri Khan said that, after being kidnapped, Kutchi was tortured and shot at least five times. The deceased was a resident of Lyari’s Khadda Market and was kidnapped on Saturday by alleged Lyari gangsters from Lyari’s Niazi Chowk. The protesters shouted slogans against the Lyari gangsters but were forced to end their protest after members of the gang arrived at the scene and opened fire at them.
