Gunned down: Man dies of bullet wounds

PESHAWAR: A tribesman identified as Ghulam Nabi Jan was shot within the jurisdiction of the Chamkani police station and later died at Lady Reading Hospital on Sunday. The police said the man was shot at and injured by two men on a motorcycle. He was taken to the hospital by residents where he succumbed to his injuries. “It appears to be another case of extortion-related murder,” said an official of the police station, adding an FIR was yet to be registered by the relatives after which they will be better placed to ascertain the nature of the incident.  Meanwhile, two people were injured when unidentified people hurled a petrol bomb on the house of Haji Ramdas in Tehkal. “The bottle was full of petrol and was thrown inside the house, slightly burning two residents,” said a police official, adding the injured said they had no enmity with anyone in the area.
