Issuing fake NOCs: Five sent on judicial remand
Court informed that accused were issuing the NOCs to Afghans who then got houses on rent in Hayatabad.
PESHAWAR:
A judicial magistrate sent five people, who had been arrested for issuing bogus No Objection Certificates (NOC) to Afghan citizens to get houses on rent in Hayatabad, on judicial remand Saturday. An investigation officer of the Tatara police presented Muhammad Islam and Misal Khan of Mardan, Sher Khan of Afghanistan, Rashid Rehman of Hayatabad and Haleem Masood of Lahore in front of magistrate Muhammad Fayaz. The court was informed that the accused were issuing bogus NOCs to Afghans who then got houses on rent in Hayatabad. The officer further said the one-day physical remand of the accused had expired but they wanted to conduct further investigation and thus needed an extension. The judicial magistrate turned down the request and instead sent the accused on a 14-day judicial remand to Central Jail Peshawar.
