MIRANSHAH:

Two private boys schools were partially destroyed in Miranshah tehsil of North Waziristan Agency early Friday morning.

An official of the political administration said unidentified militants planted bombs next to Jehangir Public School and Waziristan Cadet School in Sarai Darpa Khel area. The bombs were detonated through a remote-controlled device, damaging the structures.

The official added both the schools were blown up simultaneously, after which nearby residents rushed to the spot and began removing the debris. “The main gate and the boundary walls were completely destroyed due to the impact of the explosions,” said the official, explaining that cracks appeared in the walls and ceilings of many classrooms as a result.
