House damaged: Blast at former Barakzai nazim’s house

The house of a former village nazim was partially damaged when a bomb planted by unidentified militants exploded in Miryan, Bannu in the early hours of Thursday.


An official of Miryan police stated the incident occurred a little after midnight. Militants had planted a bomb along the boundary wall of former nazim Naqeebullah’s residence in Barakzai village; the explosive device was detonated remotely.

The blast completely destroyed the main gate of the premises along with a portion of the boundary wall; no casualties were reported. After the incident, police rushed to the site, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

The police official shared that according to the owner of the house, he had no personal enmity with anyone.

A case was filed against unidentified militants
and an investigation is under way.
