The discussion will focus on what role the federal government and the provincial governments can play to improve the security situation in their respective provinces.
The interior minister was talking with the media after discussions with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Shaukatullah Khan and Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak.
The discussion centered on security issues and the new national security policy, with emphasis on coordination between the various government agencies, Nisar said.
The interior minister also informed the media that the key decision made will be announced in the coming days. He reiterated the government’s commitment to establish peace.
He explained that up till now there was no effective inter-agency communication. However, the government is now developing a framework for information and intelligence sharing.
Nisar visits FC headquarters
Earlier on Thursday, Nisar visited the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Peshawar, Radio Pakistan reported.
Inspector General FC Maj Gen Mahmood Ghayyur gave a detailed briefing to him about the security situation.
The interior minister lauded sacrifices rendered by the FC in war on terror and said that FC personnel are fighting the war for future of Pakistan in difficult circumstances.
The minister expressed deep condolence with the IG FC on behalf of the prime minister on martyrdom of 23 FC personnel who were ruthlessly killed by the Taliban. He said it was an inhuman act.
