Pak-Afghan: Economic commission session ends

Providing one-year multiple visa to Pakistani businessmen should be done on reciprocal basis, said Motiwala.

KABUL: The ninth session of the Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) was hosted by the Afghan Ministry of Finance in Kabul from February 22-24, 2014. During the two-day session, detailed meetings were held between the experts of the two sides on various issues focusing on trade, commerce and industry, cooperation in communication and connectivity, energy, agriculture, livestock and education. Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI’s) Co-President Muhammad Zubair Motiwala emphasised the dire need of tariff rationalisation and fiscal reforms to counter parallel trade between the two countries. He said providing one-year multiple visa to Pakistani traders and businessmen should be done on reciprocal basis.
