ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday witnessed an unusual incident when a lawyer misbehaved with Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, which led to contempt of court proceedings against the lawyer. Former Islamabad District Bar Association (IDBA) president Javed Akbar Shah used abusive language against Justice Siddiqi during court proceedings and the court ordered his arrest for contempt. However, his fellow lawyers threatened the police with dire consequences if they tried to arrest him and stopped the police from getting to him. This is first time in IHC history that a lawyer has been charged with misbehaving with a judge. On January 24, the same judge had accepted an unconditional apology from Shah when he was facing contempt proceedings for misleading the court in a matter related to the appointment of lower court judges in Islamabad.
