Walled city: Students paint food street walls

LAHORE: A painting show was held by the students of National College of Arts and Design, Gulberg, at the Fort Road Food Street on Tuesday. The students painted the walls of the Fort Road Food Street. The objective of the activity was to involve young students in preserving the heritage of the Walled City. The enthusiastic students painted the walls assigned to them in three hours. The painting was inspired by fresco art work, characteristic of Mughal architecture. Most of the students had used Muslim architectural motifs. A number of photographers from the Lahore Photography club were also present. Flying lanterns were also floated into the sky in the evening as part of the event. Sayeen Muhammad Ali and dhol players performed at night. Under an agreement with the Walled City of Lahore Authority, Brighto Paints will supply the paints for the streets for the next five years.
