Bomb explosion: FC vehicle destroyed in roadside blast

Improvised explosive device was planted by unidentified militants in Shagai area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency.

JAMRUD: A Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle was destroyed when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the roadside was exploded. It had been planted by unidentified militants in Shagai area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency on Monday. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported. A security forces official said he was with other FC officials were on the way to Landikotal when the incident occurred. He explained the vehicle was damaged as a result of the explosion, but all the FC officials sitting inside remained safe. A search operation was launched in the area after the incident and further investigation is under way.
