PARACHINAR:

Five security forces officials were injured when militants twice attacked a check post in Sadda early Saturday morning and then a few hours later.

An official of the political administration from Sadda, headquarters of Lower Kurram Agency, said the check post in Khawand Kandao was attacked in the morning, which left an official injured.

He added troops retaliated and forced the militants to flee but they attacked the post again and injured four other officials and damaged the post. Clashes between militants and security forces were continuing till this report was filed.

Security forces were pounding suspected militant hideouts in the mountains using heavy artillery and light weapons, however, no casualties from the militants’ side could be ascertained.
