Khushal Khan Khattak Express: Bomb planted on tracks defused

Cash award of Rs100,000 announced for each member of the patrol that detected the bomb.

LAHORE: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused a 15-kilogramme bomb planted on a railway track near Mithankot 14 Kilometer away from Rajanpur district to target the Khushal Khan Khattak Express coming from Peshawar for Karachi, The Express Tribune has learnt. The train was scheduled to cross the site where bomb was planted at 10 am on Friday but a foot patrol of Pakistan Railways was alerted about the bomb at about 9:00 am by local residents. The train was stopped at Rajanpur station and BDS was called in to defuse the bomb. The squad defused remote controlled device and cleared the track. Meanwhile, Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique has announced a cash award of Rs100,000 for each member of the patrol that detected the bomb.
