“We hope to set 100 world records. The youth of this country are capable of achieving the feat,” Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad said on Thursday.

He said preparations for the two Guinness world record attempts under the banner of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) were in full swing.

He said the attempts would be made on the Punjab University grounds.

He said on February 24, over 175,000 individuals would participate in the national anthem challenge. He said currently, India had the record for the highest number of people singing the national anthem with 121,653 participants.

He said in another attempt, Pakistanis would try to set the record of the highest number of people waving national flags on the same day at the same venue.

Mashhood said that he had received several congratulatory telephone calls after Pakistan established Guinness World Record (GWR) of the largest human flag.
